OvalDrive36 can accomodate up to 36 movable probes, plus any number of additional stationary probes such as ground wires, reference electrodes, intracranial injection cannula, etc.  Each probe is targeted at a specific brain region by threading it into a guide tube that aims it toward its target. Guide tubes can be stacked into "bundles" that configure the probes into geometric arrangements that direct them through a desired set of brain targets. The diagram at right shows a menu of guide tube bundle configurations that you can choose from.

Design and print your targeting cone

To design your targeting cone, download the SolidWorksTM template containing the blank targeting cone file, then watch the instructional video on how to perform 3D alignment of your probe trajectories with brain atlas pages. The video shows you how to load one or more guide tube bundle configurations (from the menu at right) into the targeting cone template, and align them with the brain atlas to generate any combination of probe trajectories you like, so that you can target structures distributed throughout the brain.

Build and install the guide tube bundles
